Mere weeks before he was due to headline Download Festival in AustraliaOzzy Osbourne has had to cancel all of his upcoming shows on doctor’s orders as he recovers from pneumonia.

The cancellation of the shows in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan come off the back off having to postpone the entire UK and European leg of his, somewhat ironic, NO MORE TOURS 2 tour.

Sharon Osbourne has put out a statement on Ozzy’s behalf, saying that his doctor has firmly advised him to rest for several weeks after a bout of pneumonia put him in hospital.

Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst parthis doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel.

Considering he was billed to headline Download Festival in Sydney on March 9 and Melbourne on March 11, the festival’s team have accepted that it’s much too late to replace the Prince of Darkness. Instead, Slayer – who are playing their last ever shows – will step up to be the main headliner and Warrnambool‘s finest Airborne have joined onto the tour at the last minute.

@ozzyosbourne has announced that he must unfortunately cancel his appearance at #DLAUS2019 due to doctor’s orders. We are extremely disappointed to have to bring this news to you, our Download family, however it should go without saying, Ozzy’s health and wellbeing is number one. We wish Ozzy all the best in his recovery and hope he is back to full health as soon as possible. It is impossible to replace Ozzy at any time, but three weeks out from Download there is no chance of us securing an act to replace the headline slot. We are pleased to announce Aussie hard rock kings, @airbourne will join the Download line up and thank them for joining us with such short notice! In lieu of Ozzy’s cancellation we will also offer all current ticket holders a merchandise voucher to the value of $45 plus postage and handling available from our online shop at @24hundrednet from 9am AEDT Monday 4 March 2019. Ticket holders must enter their ticket number to redeem the voucher. This voucher is only redeemable online and cannot be redeemed at the event. Voucher is valid for the full Official Event Merchandise range. Should patrons require a refund, they will be available now until midnight Sunday 24 February 2019. Head to the link in our bio for more information.

To compensate for the Black Sabbath frontman’s late scratching, the festival is also offering punters a merch voucher for the event so they can console themselves with a nice new shirt or something of that ilk from 24Hundred, or diehard Ozzy Osbourne fans who no longer want to head along to the festival can opt for a refund through Ticketmaster‘s customer service team over HERE.

As it stands, Download Festival will still be happening, with the revised lineup, including Airborne. Grab your tickets from the Download Festival site over HERE.
