The first lineup of acts for Splendour In The Grass 2010 has been announced this morning – with a list of artists that makes up the raddest festival bill to hit Australian shores in a while.
On the 8th of March a reliable source leaked a few of the Splendour-bound acts to Pedestrian, which we immediately
wrote about.
This was the list we published:
The Pixies
The Strokes
Florence & The Machine
Smashing Pumpkins
Hot Chip
Mumford & Sons
LCD Soundsystem
Bat For Lashes
And, with the exception of the Smashing Pumpkins and Bat For Lashes, every one of those acts made the real list.
It’s a relief – god knows we copped some backlash from our regular readers to the tune of:
“pile of shit”
“you guys literally have NFI”
And so forth. So we’re glad that we can restore a little bit of our readers’ faith in us and our sources.
Let’s also keep in mind that there are still “acts to be announced” – which we are assuming will include Smashing Pumpkins (especially now that Billy C is rumoured to have
hooked up with one of The Veronicas) and Bat For Lashes (hopefully… We kind of pulled that one out of Imagination Land).
