An Extremely Tiny South Australian Town Will Host Triple J’s 2019 One Night Stand

One Night Stand

Only yesterday Triple J confirmed the killer lineup for its annual One Night Stand — a big one-night festival that pops up in a regional location every year — featuring Ocean Alley, G Flip, Meg Mac and Hilltop Hoods. HUGE. And now the radio station has revealed where this musical miracle will take place.

After stints in St Helens, Tasmania (2018) and Mount Isa in Queensland (2017), the One Night Stand will take place on Saturday September 14 in the small South Australian town of Lucindale, which is about 340km south-east of Adelaide.

The folks of Lucindale have been campaigning for the One Night Stand honour since 2012, setting up a Facebook page in an effort to get Triple J to notice them. And it’s finally bloody happening.

The festival hasn’t popped up in South Australia since 2011 when it happened in Tumby Bay, so this is a huge deal for the tiny town, which has a population of around 500 people and will be one of the smallest towns One Night Stand has ever been staged in.

If you can’t make it out to Lucindale, Triple J will be broadcasting all the One Night Stand goodness live on radio or the Triple J app.

Rock on, folks.
