One Direction Fans Panic, Fear Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson Caught In QLD Cyclone Marcia

A bout of wild weather has been hitting Australia today, as category four (Marcia was recently downgraded from this morning’s 5 system to system 4) cyclones Cyclone Lam and Cyclone Marcia hit the Northern Territory and Queensland respectively.

And when a dangerous situation strikes locally, you’re going to want to be sure all your loved ones who *could* be affected are accounted for. Obviously. One Direction fans of the world have naturally done just that, after two-fifths of the band are reportedly holidaying in Hamilton Island right now between their Australian tour dates. ICYMI (Australian geography), Hamilton Island also happens to be in Queensland, a fact solid enough for One Direction fans to lose their minds over the well-being and safety of dear Zayn and bb Louis, expressing their fears in droves over on twitter.

A couple of things though.

1. Isn’t the more important question here: “where were Niall, Harry and Liam’s invites, FFS?”

2. Hamilton Island is hardly in Cyclone Marcia’s line of fire. At the time of writing, Cyclone Marcia had hit the area surrounding Yeppoon and Rockhampton. It’s very much worth noting here that Hamilton Island is around 530 odd kilometres away from Yeppoon. As a terribly constructed visual:

3. But sure, you’re saying, maybe the cyclone isn’t *at* Hamilton Island, but a cyclone’s impact maybe could stretch a few hundred kilometres, no problem. But while winds going beyond 250 km per hour certainly are expected where Cyclone Marcia hits, Hamilton Island is looking positively great, today. 21 km per hour wind. I think they’re gonna be okay.

Anyway. The concerned tweets range from “Get [to] the safest place possible I’m begging you,” to “I’m worried sick” and varying degrees of “OMG”, and quite frankly I care not for posting them here.

This, tho:
