OH SHIT: The National Just Dropped Australian Tour Dates For 2018

Hold onto your goddamned butts, folks. 2018 is gonna be sick.

After extremely strongly hinting at it yesterday, The National has blessed unto us all a (way too short) string of tour dates for Australia and New Zealand in early 2018.

The legendary Ohio band is officially dropping their seventh studio album ‘Sleep Well Beast‘ on September 8th, and they will be visiting our shores on the back of it for a run of east-coast dates taking in some of the country’s biggest and most picturesque venues.

The group teased a visit out here yesterday by posting a small snippet of footage from their 2014 Sydney Opera House performance on Twitter.

This morning, thankfully, all doubt has been erased. The band will be taking in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, as well as a short hop across the Tasman for a show in Auckland across late February and into early March.

Crucially, for those of you worried about shows selling out and such, there seems to be plentiful gaps in the schedule if you feel like doing a little blind hoping.

The band last visited familiar shores in 2016 for Byron Bay Bluesfest, and this upcoming tour comes on the back of an extensive album tour that’s set to cover the US and most Europe between now and the end of the year.

Tickets for The National’s 2018 Australian/NZ tour go on sale from September 1st, with ticketing details to follow via the group’s website.

Cop the full run of dates and start making plans, folks. This one is gonna be GOOD.
