Nirvana’s Grown-Ass Cover Baby Is Here To Remind You ‘Nevermind’ Turned 25

You wouldn’t know it from all of the 15-year-olds running around in oversized sweaters, corduroy caps and military-grade platform boots, but the 1990s are actually a bafflingly distant figure of the past.

We mean, obviously time passes – that’s how time works – but if you’re like us, you’re probably hitting that sweet spot where you’ve lived just enough of your life to remember the good ol’ days.

And, by good ol’ days, we mean being in the room while your cool cousin blasted Nirvana’s Nevermind, as your young mind questioned why the powers that be decided to include an infant’s penis on the album artwork.
(Yes, we know Heart-Shaped Box came out later).
In any case, it was September 24, 1991 when baby Spencer Elden found himself on the front cover of one of the most influential records of all time. 25 years later, he’s gone ahead and recreated the album artwork to remind us we’re getting fkn old:

Of course, this isn’t the first time he’s emulated the artwork of that legitimately iconic Krist Novoselic / Dave Grohl / Kurt Cobain record. In fact, it seems he gets in the pool every five years or so to mark the occasion:

FWIW, when he’s not being legitimately stoked about his appearance on that landmark LP, Elden works as an artist in the Los Angeles, and he even told the New York Post he prefers a bit of The Clash over Nirvana anyway.

We can’t wait for 2018, tbh. We’re eager to see what In Utero’s disemboweled angel looks like at 25.
