My memories of listening to Stone Temple Pilots was set in a bedroom adorned in Laura Ashley florals and 90210 posters from Smash Hits magazine, wearing tencel overalls in an entirely non-ironic way: THE NINETIES. Well guess what guys, (in case you hadn’t already noticed) the Nineties are back – for better or worse. Firstly, Beverly Hills: 90210 experienced a revival – albeit a shithouse one. Then we saw overalls, paisley and light floral prints make a runway comeback at Spring/Summer 2011 fashion week thanks to Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli and Alexa Chung for Madewell… and locally labels like Bassike, LOVER and Antipodium have paid tribute to the Ninties, some with heart-on-their-sleeve homages. Now to the icing on the (swimming pool shaped Woman’s Weekly Cake Book recipe) cake: Stone Temple Pilots are touring.
