Vaguely beachy selection of music videos today. Hopefully they bring some warmer temperatures to Australia because Spring is only a couple of days away and I’m still packing a trench coat and dreading the sunless walks back home. First up is self-proclaimed King Of The Beach Wavves who, though explicitly referencing hallucinogenics in the song’s title, manages to sidestep any overtly druggy visual references via an extraterrestrial chum who materializes out of the ether, bomb hills, plays a house show and get some sweet, sweet human action. High fives to you Mr. Alien. In the distant past you’ve definitely accosted me post-something and you’re a stand up guy.
Next up is terminally chill Georgia resident Ernest Greene aka Washed Out with a new clip for “Hold Out”, taken from Greene’s fantastic 2009 EP Life Of Leisure. Which is probably the most apt three word description of Greene’s day-to-day judging from this fly on the wall tour video directed by John Lipari. Aside from jamming out to his own shit Greene seems particularly fond of beach excursions, lake swimming, rainy day road trips and smiling like he just won the life lottery.
