New Kanye West Clip

Kanye debuted his new ‘Love Lockdown’ clip on ‘The Ellen Show’ which in Australia is the equivalent of The Midnight Juggernauts chilling on the Kerri Anne Kennelly show, but you know, less lame (Kerri not the Juggers).

Utilizing M.I.A’s trademarked amalgam of tribal motifs and day-glo, the clip finds a morose Mr. West moping about in his clinically white apartment while a skittering bass kick loops like a heart beat. I really do like the clip but the song is pretty shit. Give me the bombast, the fist pumping, the crucifixion of naysayers – it was arrogant but at least it was interesting. With the imminent release of his new album ‘808’s & Heartbreak’ which will feature more autontune that rapping ‘Love Lockdown’ is a good indication of Kanye’s future sound.
The way I see it Kanye is a great producer, mediocre rapper, and terrible singer so the proposition of listening to an album’s worth of autotuned ballads doesn’t really appeal to me. Check it out for yourself below…
