Rapper Nelly Arrested Over Alleged Tour Bus Sexual Assault After Concert

Rapper Nelly has been taken into custody following an incident near Seattle, in which a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her on his tour bus after a concert.

Police in Auburn responded to reports of a sexual assault at around 3.48am, and Nelly, real name Cornell Iral Hayes Jr, was arrested on a charge of second-degree rape.

He had performed alongside the Backstreet Boys and Florida Georgia Line hours before, at the White River Amphitheater, and his tour bus was parked near a local Walmart.

According to local police reports, he has since been released from custody.

The rapper’s lawyer Scott Rosenblum responded to the allegations in a statement, calling them “completely fabricated” and denying any wrongdoing.

“Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness,” the statement read.

Nelly previously had a run-in with the law in April 2015, when his tour bus was pulled over in Tennessee and found to contain drugs and handguns.
