Neil Finn, WIlco, Radiohead and Johnny Marr Walk Into A Bar…

‘Seven years ago I invited a few friends and fellow musicians to do a special series of concerts in New Zealand under the banner Seven Worlds Collide” explains Crowded House frontman Neil Finn. “The concerts were an amazing experience for all of us and we are delighted to have found an opportunity to gather again, this time to expand the concept and the lineup too’.

What Finn fails to mention however is his “friends” are Johnny Marr of The Smiths/Modest Mouse/The Cribs/Who knows what else he’s up to, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Phil Selway and Ed O’Brien of Radiohead. All people we’d kill to have acquaintance status with let alone a “travel halfway across the world and jam with me” bromance. When Finn recreated the event in Auckland last year he replaced Vedder with Wilco and wrote and recorded an album in the name of charity. Thankfully a documentary crew were on hand to capture the magic, check it out below…
