My Chemical Romance will perform at the Australian leg of Download music festival next year, treating Sydney and Melbourne audiences to their anthemic punk goodness for the first time since 2012.

The lauded band, which only announced its long-awaited reunion last week, will join fellow emo-adjacent kings Jimmy Eat World, absolute lords Deftones, and the champs in Baroness for the massive metal and punk fest.
Local heroes also get a look-in, with acts like Hands Like Houses, In Hearts Wake, Ne Obliviscaris, and goddamn Bodyjar taking to the stage in March next year.
