MTV Drops Full List Of 2016 VMA Noms & Ya Boy Kendrick Lamar Cleaned Up

MTV have released the 2017 Video Music Awards nominations, and Kendrick Lamar has cleaned the hell up, scoring eight nominations including the prestigious ‘Video of the Year‘ for ‘HUMBLE‘ and Artist of the Year.

He was tailed by The Weeknd and Katy Perry in second place for nominations, who each scored five apiece.

The VMAs notably did away with gendered categories this year (‘Best Female Artist‘, ‘Best Male Artist‘ etc), making it virtually the only major award to do so.

It’s also added a ‘Best Fight Against The System‘ category, for tracks that rally against social injustices. Nominees for this first ever award include the Hamilton Mixtape for ‘Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)‘ and Taboo and Shailene Woodley for ‘Stand Up / Stand N Rock #DoNAPL‘.

Cop the full list of nominees below, but honestly, we’re all here for one thing when it comes to the VMAs: D R A M A. It’s all going down August 27, so stand by for the next “Miley, what’s good?” / “Imma let you finish” quote of the year.
