Mountain Sounds Festival Cuts 20+ Acts From Lineup In Huge Downsizing

Mountain Sounds Festival, which is due to kick off in the Mount Penang Parklands on the Central Coast on the 15th and 16th of February, has had to drastically scale back its party two weeks out from the festival’s launch.

Mountain Sounds’ team took to Facebook today to detail the changes in the event and listed the acts that would no longer be appearing at the festival, including Stella Donnelly, CrocodylusMoaning LisaaTottyJohnny Hunter, and Dumb Punts.

The team behind the festival have said that safety standards, licencing, and security is the main factors behind the downsizing of the weekender camping festival, including the removal of over 20 acts from the festival’s lineup.

The festival’s downsizing also includes a reconfiguration of stages that are on offer over the weekend. The renewed festival will merge the Bus Stage and the Bungalow Stage into one stage, and will replace the Not Just Grrls Stage – which featured exclusively female and non-binary aritsts – into the Bacardi El Coco Tropical Danceteria. This move has resulted in the team behind the Not Just Grrrls stage to revoke its partnership of the festival as a whole.

The Mountain Sounds team have assured punters that the show will go on with headliners Courtney BarnettAngus & Julia StoneWhatSoNotMiddle Kids and Ruby Fields, and as per the festival’s T&C’s, no refunds are currently planned to be issued for change in the lineup or otherwise.
