Miley Cyrus Just Read Liam For Filth In New Breakup Bop & Mum Can You Pick Me Up? I’m Scared

While Taylor Swift is out here singing about loving her man until the end of time on her fresh track ‘Lover’, Miley Cyrus is singing about the destruction of her relationship with Liam Hemsworth on her new song ‘Slide Away’.

On the devo track, which was conveniently released less than a week after their split, Cyrus croons about Once Upon A Time coming to an end in the blink of an eye.

She sings:

“Once upon it was paradise, once upon a time I was paralysed / I think I’m gonna miss these harbour lights / But it’s time to let it go.”

“Once upon a time it was made for us, woke up one day and it turned to dust. Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go.”

She goes on to seemingly confirm recent rumours that drugs and alcohol played a part in the demise of their marriage and holy fkn shit, our girl came to play.

“I want my house in the hills / don’t want the whisky and pills / I don’t give up easily but I don’t think I’m down.”

“Move on, we’re not 17 / I’m not who I used to be,” Cyrus adds. “You said that everything changed / You’re right I’m grown now.”

The single cover also evokes this image as it features bottles of alcohol and pills lying in a pool.

Meanwhile, multiple sources have revealed to multiple publications that it was Miley who broke up with Liam and while the reasons for the split have varied slightly (classic he-said-she-said), the most common denominator comes down to the singer being sick of the actor’s constant partying.

“Everyone always thinks Miley is problematic and immature and a hardcore partier while he’s this chill surfer dude, but that’s actually [not accurate],” a source told PEOPLE. “Liam parties with his friends, and Miley thinks he should’ve grown out of that by now.”

On the chorus, she sings:

“Why don’t you slide away back to the ocean / I’ll go back to the city life,” which could be a reference to Hemsworth return to Byron to be with his fam following their split.
