Miley Cyrus Drops Big Deets About The New Album She’s Releasing This Week

She’s back, babey. Miley Cyrus has shared some vital info on her upcoming seventh (!!!) studio album, She Is Coming, which will land in our laps at the end of this week.

When she’s not been busy working with Mark Ronson, looking after her menagerie of animals with husband Liam Hemsworth, appearing as a guest judge and undercover drag king in RuPaul’s Drag Race, or shooting for the upcoming season of Black Mirror, Miley Cyrus has been hard at work on her next solo release, following up to 2017’s Younger Now.

Now we have the cover art and the official release date: it’ll be ripe and ready for Friday arvo jams on May 31.

The big announce follows Miley busting out a couple of new tracks over the weekend for BBC Radio 1‘s Big Weekend, teasing fans with new bops called ‘Dream‘, ‘Mother’s Daughter‘ ‘Cattitude‘, with that last one being noted as a clap-back to Nicki Minaj‘s famed “Mileywhat’s good?” moment at the MTV VMAs four years ago.

Check out some footage of ‘Mother’s Daughter‘ below, where Miley’s pretty much rapping about being a powerful witch. Yeah I’m here for it.

Miley Cyrus then had a bit of a chat with BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, saying that she’s going to release the new album at “5.31 officially” and she’ll be dropping a project in “a different way” further down the track this year, that works with the way that music is done and interacted with now that streaming is the main way people listen to tunes.

Miley’s shared a couple of teaser clips on Instagram for the new album as well, both of them harking back to the gooey, glitter mess that was the video clip for ‘Dooo It!‘, from her independently-released, Soundcloud-only album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. A warning, there’s some solid flashing images here.

Miley Cyrus is extremely back on her sex-positive, risqué vibe and we can’t wait to get the new album into our earholes as soon as it drops.

Until then, enjoy this moment where Miley brings ya girl Charli XCX up on stage at Big Weekend for a rendition of ‘We Can’t Stop.
