M.I.A & Action Bronson Are Headlining Melbourne’s Freshest NYD Festival

If summer in Melbourne wasn’t scorching enough, then the city’s newest NYD festival The First, is about to make any and all thermometers explode.

January 1st is set to be a big one as the very-first edition of The First festival launches at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, hurtling us all into 2019 with such force that I’ll be surprised if a spike in cases of whiplash isn’t recorded by local hospitals.

M.I.AAction Bronson, and The Presets are headlining the brand spankin’ new fest, and whoa if that’s the closers of the first iteration of a NYD festival then Jesus Christ you’re onto something good.

A big ol’ open-air festival with multiple stages and a bunch of food offerings is probably one of the best ways to kick it into the new year, really.

The whole day is stacked out with some of the best picks from electronic, hip hop, house and techno, which means there will be at least one (1) set that will get you up off your ass and having a boogie.

No need to feel a scrap of jealous about Sydney and Field Day when you’ve got this right in the middle of the fkn city.

Check out the first lineup below (yes, there will be more) and alert the group chat immediately.
