Thrash Dads Metallica & Slipknot Announce Return To Oz With Stadium Tour

Metallica and Slipknot, two legendary metal bands and patron saints of the black t-shirt industry, have announced their return to Australia and New Zealand for a joint stadium tour.

The thrash metal icons and their nu-metal progeny are slated to bring riffs and masks in October this year, almost six years after Metallica’s last journey Down Under, and a cool 20 years after the release of Slipknot’s savage self-titled debut LP.

The WorldWired tour will attack Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, before heading to Auckland.

Plus, because we are well past the VHS bootleg stage of both bands’ careers, tickets will allow punters to relive the whole show with a free professionally mixed and mastered MP3 recording. We’re sure Napster is quaking, wherever it is.
