Matt Okine’s Side Hustle Boilermakers Drops Clip For ‘Warning Signs’ Ft. KLP

You probably know Matt Okine best for his comedy and radio skills – you’ve heard him on breakfast radio for the last few years on Triple J – but after leaving the early starts at the end of last year, he’s been able to focus more on his other projects.

One of them is his musical career. Matt works under the moniker of Boilermakers, and tbh he’s got a very good knack for spitting rhymes. We’ve got a bloody triple quadruple threat over here, folks.

PEDESTRIAN.TV are super stoked to premiere the clip for the latest Boilermakers song, ‘Warning Signs’, featuring Matt’s old Triple J workmate and literal angel KLP.

Warning Signs’ runs parallel themes to his first comedy series, The Other Guy, which is now up on Stan.

Matt enlisted the help of  KLP for melodic vocals, and Matt told PEDESTRIAN.TV that he pitched the idea to KLP in a pretty sneak way.

I invited KLP and her boyfriend around one night and we were all having drinks and then I became that annoying person who was like “hey, can I play you this thing I’ve been working on with my producer, Siyoni?” Such a crumb move. But worth it in the end, because KLP ended up writing the hook there and then and we made a song that I’m really proud of.

The clip itself is quite simple, and draws upon footage from The Other Guy to really push the story. It’s effective and god damn the song is catchy as hell.

Peep it below, and go binge his show on Stan this weekend.
