Bad news, sports fans. You’re gonna have to wait a few more months for an audience with the Queen. Mariah Carey has announced her planned #1s tour of Australian, which was set for February, is being postponed due to a “necessary realignment” of her international engagements in 2018.
The tour was set to feature her popular #1s show from Las Vegas, in which she paraded out the litany of certified number one hits she’s enjoyed throughout her career.
And while the tour is still schedule to go ahead in October 2018, significant changes have been made to the touring schedule.
Firstly, the bad news. Perth? You’re off the list, mates. Sorry.
The rescheduled tour has removed the Perth date completely from the itinerary, with ticketholders for the now-cancelled show to be refunded in full.
Secondly, the slightly less bad news. The rescheduled tour has also seen significant venue changes in both Sydney and Melbourne. In Sydney, the show is being shifted from the outdoor Parramatta Park to the indoor Qudos Bank Arena. A similar outdoor-to-indoor shift is being done in Melbourne, with the gig moving from Melbourne Showgrounds to Rod Laver Arena.
New tickets for Melbourne and Sydney punters will be issued in the coming weeks, while tickets for the Brisbane show – which will remain at its previously announced venue of Sandstone Point – will remain valid.
Tour promoter Scott Mesiti expressed his disappointment at the rescheduling, but promised the tour will eventually make its way here later in the year.
It’s always unfortunate when these situations occur and we regret any inconvenience the rescheduling has caused for fans. We’re very excited that we’ve been able to find suitable time for Mariah’s return to ensure fans don’t miss out on what is sure to be a spectacular show from one of the music world’s biggest music icons.
The rescheduled dates and venues are as follows:
Wednesday October 10th – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne VIC
Friday October 12th – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney NSW
Sunday October 14th – Sandstone Point, Brisbane QLD
Patrons who bought tickets but cannot attend the rescheduled dates are being offered full refunds. Email email@example.com for more information.
Tickets for the rescheduled shows will go on sale a 2pm local time on Thursday, February 1st.
