Mardi Gras Roll Out The Celebs For Their ‘Say Something’ Campaign

Sydney’s Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras are just around the corner, and event organisers are looking to take audience participation up a notch with the ‘Say Something’ campaign. The idea seems to have been inspired by success of last year’s It Gets Better project in the US. Celebrity videos started pouring in from around the globe this week with everyone from Kylie Minogue and Ke$ha through to our own Missy Higgins, Ruby Rose and Amanda Keller. It’s certainly a great antidote to everyone’s favourite asshole of the week, Peter Madden.

Say the organisers: “No matter how you choose to participate, Mardi Gras 2011 offers you the chance to get out there and SAY SOMETHING about what you believe in. We have put together some new and exciting ways in which you can participate in this campaign, broadcasting your message across the world!”

In Ke$ha’s case, that means referring to her own song and dropping a few F-bombs:

Kylie does it with style, as always, and almost forgets the point:

Recently featured on Pedestrian with his killer filmclip, Brendan gets his ukelele on for a fantastically honest missive:

And not that it’s a competition, but we can’t get past comedian Josh Thomas, who decides he’ll broadcast his thoughts with a little help from his Nan:

Here’s a few more to get you in the spirit:

The Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade is this Saturday.
