Madonna Opening ‘Hard Candy’ Gym Chain

Madonna is definitely opening a chain of gyms to be called Hard Candy Fitness with clubs planned for Brazil, Argentina and multiple locations throughout Europe, including Russia, and Asia. Aside from being the most cut-looking 50+ year old woman in the entertainment industry, Madonna has gotta be the most enterprising business woman in the ranks as well. Let’s face it, for every person that compares her to a piece of gristle there is another 50 people who wish they looked like a piece of gristle themselves.

Madonna has partnered with founder of gym chain ’24 Hour Fitness’ Mark Mastrov, who said the gyms will be “a reflection of Madonna’s point-of-view and will reflect her input on every detail including music space, light and other design cues. Madonna’s touch will be everywhere.” Sh*t how awesome…. A gym that features a Madonna-only soundtrack to Pump classes (despite Dannii Minogue’s “All I wanna do” being a real grower), one that teaches the “Express Yourself” dance and sells metallic purple leotards would get a heap of 80s throwbacks and Madonna obsessives on board.

According to Forbes the first gym will open in Mexico City in mid November and the singer herself is slated to visit on November 29th. According to a press release, the gym will be 30,000 square feet and feature “the very best in innovative training methods” with classes in things like Zumba, Latin Moves and specially-designed classes. Also “the lavish locker rooms built with the finest materials will be a sanctuary for members.”

Membership prices are unknown.

I would join this gym.
