The Louvre Is Now Giving Tours Of Beyoncé & Jay-Z’s ‘Apes**t’ Video

Such is the power of Beyoncé and Jay-Z that the Musée du Louvre in Paris is now offering art tours of their APES**T music video.

Based on my own Instagram feed, it looks like half of Australia’s currently in sunny  E u r o p e  so if you happen to be one of these lucky punters gallivanting off in the warmth, then here’s something you might be interested in.

The six-minute music video shows the artists with a total of 17 masterpiece paintings and sculptures including the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, Venus de Milo by Alexandros of Antioch, and Portrait of a Black Woman by Marie-Guillemine Benoist.

According to the Louvre’s website, the tour goes for an easy one hour and 30 minutes and is currently available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and the weekend.

The only catch is the tour’s currently only in French but the museum’s bound to add more languages inevitably.

Here’s the full list of artworks you’ll gaze at according to the tour guide:

  • The Victory of Samothrace
  • The Virgin with Green Cushion, Solario
  • Pietà by Rosso Fiorentino
  • The Mona Lisa, Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo, Leonardo da Vinci
  • The Marriage of Cana, Veronese
  • The Raft of the Medusa, Géricault
  • The Shadows of Francesca da Rimini and Paolo Malatesta appearing to Dante and Virgile, Scheffer
  • Officer of hunters on horseback of the Imperial Guard charging, Géricault
