In the heartwarming music video for his new song ‘Two of Us’, Louis Tomlinson took 83-year-old Richard on an adventure around town to check off a few items on his bucket list.

There is a very good chance you’re about to shed a lot of tears.

“A month or so ago I met an amazing man called Richard,” Louis wrote on social media. “He had a few things he wanted to do so I thought I’d help him out.”

He continued, “This video feels particularly relevant and powerful to me. Richard is a classic example of a fearless man who in light of tragedy still pushes himself to live with as much laughter and happiness as possible. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I did making it.”

Richard’s wife Pat passed away from Alzheimer’s in December 2016, around the same time Louis lost his mother Johannah Deakin to leukaemia.

“We’re a big family so it hit us hard,” he says in the video.

Again, a lump is about to form in your throat.

Together, Louis and Richard go for a ride in a helicopter, hit the race track, drop by a tattoo parlour, sit front row on a rollercoaster, and perform in a packed arena.

Like Louis, Richard is no stranger to the stage but he had always wanted to sing in front of a huge crowd.

“I started playing the clubs when I was about 17-years-old. I did 45 years of that and gave it up when my wife started being ill. She couldn’t be left very long,” Richard shares. “Unfortunately she’s gone now –  two years this Christmas she’s been gone.”

Richard still talks to his wife on a “regular basis, even though she ain’t here.”

At the end of the clip, Louis encourages his fans to donate to the Alzheimer Society, Cancer Research UK, and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
