Lorde Dealing W/ An On-Stage SITG Wardrobe Malfunction Is An Exercise In Chill

As you may have gathered from the astronomical levels of hype, everyone’s favourite Kiwi genius Lorde headlined the first night of Splendour In The Grass last night – her second time as headliner of the festival, but the first time she’d been booked in her own right (five years ago she jumped in to replaced Frank Ocean).

But it was not all smooth sailing for Ella Yelich-O’Conner, oh my, no. In fact, just two songs into her banger of a set, she had to pause proceedings to take care of a little wardrobe malfunction.

In front of a thousands-strong crowd, the 21-year-old addressed the mishap in the most Lorde way ever, explaining:

I’m very happy we’re here together on a Friday night, because you know, this is historically a very dancey night, which I’m happy about. But I want to show you something crazy that just happened to me. My uh, shirt has become disconnected from my body.

Will you give me a second to fix this and I’ll run back? This is crazy. Talk amongst yourselves.

After skipping off stage for a second to patch her outfit up, she returned to say:

It is the most me thing that could happen – two songs into Splendour and my shirt fucking flies off my body.

You may have to keep me posted (if it happens again). I may not know until it’s far too late.

Could we love her any more? We thought not, but we were wrong. Watch the adorable incident from last night below:
