‘Sumthin Like This Night’ teaches us many things; namely, that Snoop hasn’t been a relevant rapper since the mid-90s and that Damon Albarn is officially the kookiest Brit on the block. The track comes off like a B-side to the Plastic Beach sessions; all weird warped horns and triplet figures while Snoop alternately tries to be a reggaeton master and a hipster and fails miserably at both. But if you treat him as background noise, it’s a pretty cool track. The hook’s sweet-as, mainly because Albarn wrote it.
