HEADS UP: The Libertines Are Playing A Tiny Surprise Show In Melbs Tomorrow

Sonofabitch this is gonna get loose real quick. Those of you who slept on tickets to catch The Libertines play at the Forum in Melbourne on Wednesday just got thrown the mother of all lifelines, with the UK group announcing an extremely last-minute and extremely small show in the Victorian capital set to go down TOMORROW NIGHT.

Yes, you read that right.

The Libertines are playing a surprise show in Melbourne tomorrow, Tuesday February 27th.

Here’s the kicker, though. If you’re absolutely frothing to get in, you’re gonna want to be organised about it.

The show is going down at The Curtin in Carlton, on the city end of Lygon St, opposite Trades Hall. Those familiar with the almighty venue will know that capacity is limited to around 300-ish, so you should all know that a) it will sell out, quickly, and b) it’s gonna be packed and sweaty in there.

We repeat: Holy shit The Libertines are playing The Curtin tomorrow night.

This isn’t gonna be your standard buy-a-ticket online-type show, oh no. You’ll only be able to get a ticket for the show at the venue, after doors have opened. So you might wanna prep yourself for some lining up time.

Doors for the show will open at 8pm tomorrow night, and a ticket will set you back a cool $60.

And now, here are the answers to the inevitable barrage of questions that’ll pop up:

  • No, you can’t buy tickets over the phone. Please refrain from phoning the pub.
  • No, you can’t have them put aside for you. Do not ask.
  • No, there isn’t a guest list. Your mate can’t sneak you in to this.
  • No, we don’t have set times.
  • No, they’re not coming to Adelaide.

Those of you fortunate enough to get in tomorrow night, please do not totally destroy the joint. It’s my favourite pub, and I’d like to see it remain in one piece.

HOP TO IT, SPORTS FANS.
