Libertine’s Carl Barât Plans Solo Debut And Memoirs

Despite the recent reformation of The Libertines Carl Barât the band’s (least cracked out) driving force will release his self-titled debut solo album on 4 October. Barât has also written his memoirs called Threepenny Memoir, a collection of stories and reminisces from his life which includes a chapter dedicated to Libertines. Like all memoir-consuming voyeurs, we’re hoping it will include much detailed oversharing about Pete Doherty’s drug orgies and Kate Moss blowjobs that’ll make A Million Little Pieces look like Bridget Jones’s Diary.

Fans of The Libertines felled a collective swoon upon learning the smack-powered rollercoaster bromance between Pete Doherty and Carl Barât had chilled enough for the band to reform in time for next month’s Leeds and Reading festivals. If Pete can keep the crazy under wraps the Libertines revival is gonna be all-time, but prolonged saneness has never been his strong point which is probably why Carl Barât isn’t banking on the comeback.

Threepenny Memoir published by Harper Collins is out on 30th September.
