Liam Payne Is 100% For A 1D Reunion Even If Harry Thinks He’s Too Cool For It Now

One Direction

For too long I have waited in the shadows, wondering when/where/if/or how Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson will gather in the same room together, look each other in the eye and say: “Fuck it, lets get the boys back together.” But I just, I don’t think it’s ever going to happen. Not until they’re in their 30s-40s… like the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC keep on doing.

Liam appeared on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa show yesterday to chat about his brand new single ‘Stack It Up’. Also, One Direction because that’s all we truly care about.

In short, Harry did a Rolling Stone feature a little while ago and said he wasn’t against a 1D reunion. He pretty much said that if they’re all on the same page then they’ll do it – for themselves – but until then, he’s very much focused on experimenting with his own music.

“I enjoy making music this way too much to see myself doing a full switch, to go back and do that again. Because I also think if we went back to doing things the same way, it wouldn’t be the same, anyway.”

Translation: they’re different now.

SO THEN Liam had his say and well: “I don’t see why there’s any reason we can’t but if that’s the way he feels, it’s kind of up to him really” just about sums it up.

“I haven’t really seen or heard from Harry from quite some time now which is fine, everybody needs their space,” he revealed. “I’m just really grateful, more than anything, that we are the first band to have each member be very successful in their own right.”

“But at the same time would I like to get back together? Yeah, definitely. You know I’ve been very open about that stuff. I don’t fear the success that was One Direction, it was awesome. Whether or not we’re too different now I don’t really know, I don’t see why there’s no common pass we can’t kind of meet on.”

Even musically speaking, Liam still thinks there’s a common link between them and their material.

“I don’t think Harry is a million miles away from what One Direction sounded like,” he shared. “I think he’s still got the characteristics of it, he’s just the more grownup version of it. And also maybe a little bit more rockier.”

He added that he believes Niall is probably the most-suited to where One Direction sits.

“I always felt like ‘Slow Hands’, we could all do together in a concert which would be cool.”

It would. It really would.
