LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip already share a guitarist, a healthy appetite for disco and spots on Splendour In the Grass’ tantalizing 2010 lineup so it comes as no surprise that the Trans-Atlantic dance heroes will also share a stage and co-headline a tour around Australia.
As fans of either band will attest it’s a double bill tailor made for freaking the fuck out and/or losing weight plus can you imagine the sea of cowbells they collectively tour with? I bet they have cowbells that don’t even exist yet. If you’re still not sold, James Murphy recently told Triple J that “This is our last tour. So this is our crazy, no punches pulled…we have to do the weirdest stuff. It’s like the most ramshackle basement show ever. It’s the end of this type of thing for us.” Meaning unless you can guarantee a Splendour ticket this might be your last chance to see LCD Soundsystem play live (and see them do weird, ramshackle basement stuff).
