Laneway’s 2018 Food Line-Up Has Dropped & Hoo Boy You Won’t Go Hungry

When it comes to Australian festivals, not many are adored in quite the same way St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is.

Born in a Melbourne (you guessed it) laneway back in 2005, the festival has since grown to become an international behemoth spanning the opposing coasts of ‘Straya right through to Auckland and Singapore.

Despite it’s global germination, the vibe at Laneway is still the same as it’s always been: it’s a celebration of good music, good vibes and good mates.

The Jan/Feb 2018 lineup dropped back in September, with notable mentions like Amy Shark, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Kirin J. Callinan and Billie Eilish rounding out an eclectic roll call.

But we know what you’re really thirsty for: Laneway’s food offerings.

Festival faves like Mary’s Burgers, Taco Truck, Easeys and Messina will all be available for the smashing on the day, but more interestingly, Laneway will be trying out something a little different, a little unusual, this year.

They’ve brought on legendary Hobart chef David Moyle to create an on-site dining experience just for foodies.

It’s been dubbed the ‘Royale Moyle‘, and it’s a collaborative curation of food and beverage pairings that’ll be available at the Sydney and Melbourne events.

As part of the pairings, Moyle has chosen a selection of current, young and acclaimed chefs, restaurants and mixologists. All the food will be succinctly matched with a sensational cocktail selection from master mixologist, Shaun Byrne.

In Melbourne on Saturday February 3rd, Laneway Festival goers can graze on tasty delights from:

Longsong
Embla
Smith & Daughters (*the sound of a thousand vegans crying happy tears is heard faintly in the background*)
Harley & Rose

In Sydney, patrons get the best restaurants coming to them Sunday February 4th:

Restaurant Hubert
Pinbone
Longsong
10 William St

A single food / bev pairing will set you back just $25 on the day which is pretty darn good bang for your buck.

The days when a hot jam doughnut and a lukewarm tinnie were acceptable festival foods? Long behind us, folks. And that’s cause for celebration.
