Kurt Cobain Biopic Moves Ahead

It might seem sacrilegious to hardened Grunge purists but new developments have been made in the much-maligned Kurt Cobain biopic – All Apologies (working title). Developed over the last two and a half years by David Benioff (Brothers), the script takes partial inspiration from Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain a 2001 biography written by Charles Cross.

On the Directing front THR reports that Filmmaker Oren Moverman who wrote and directed the Oscar nominated The Messenger and co-penned the inventive Bob Dylan biopic “I’m Not There” has been tapped to Direct and polish the Cobain script. Aside from appeasing Courtney Love and the expectations of Nirvana fans Moverman will have to contend with comparisons to Gus Van Sant’s spartan 2005 drama Last Days, based loosely on the final days of a Cobain-esque rock star. We hope they can do the icon justice.
