Kirin J Callinan Embraces Nudity In New Video

Where to start with Sydney provocateur Kirin J Callinan’s new video for “Embracism”? How about the start.

Kirin wakes up. Kirin has a shave. Kirin does weights and participates in the most terrifying shower scene since Marion Crane. He is not ashamed. He’s a man’s man, man, soundtracked appropriately by aggressively delivered lyrics about the machismo of Australian sports culture, manicured noise and Suicide-style background chug. And buttcheeks. Plenty of buttcheeks. He contorts. He decays. It ends.

The clip was directed by Sydney born fashion photographer Cara Stricker, sister of Callinan collaborator and Midnight Juggernauts drummer Daniel Stricker whose Siberia Records imprint is releasing the album next month.

Embracism is the title track from Kirin’s new album out June 28 via Siberia Records & Terrible Records / XL Recordings.
