Today’s Mood: That Time Kim Kardashian Hooked Up With An Emo Pete Wentz In ’07

2007 was a wild time. Dumbledore came out (huge mood), Britney Spears released the incomparable Blackout (another huge mood) and we were all running around with side bangs and wide headbands (a regretful mood).

I see you, LC. I see you.

2007 was also the year that a relatively unknown Kim Kardashian made her music video debut on the set of Fall Out Boy’s “Thnks fr th Mmrs”.

*Momentarily pauses to wait for gasps*  Yes, I know.

Let me explain how I made this shocking discovery.

I found myself on the weird side of YouTube the other day after going down a nostalgic K-hole, and happened to stumble upon the innocent thumbnail of a 26-year-old Kimmy K and Pete Wentz, both sporting matching eyeliner. I audibly gasped – I’d completely forgotten that this gem of a video existed.

However, it wasn’t until I watched the video again, and discovered how well and truly cooked it was, that I realised just how important it was for the world to be reminded about this gem of a video.

Let’s begin our mini dissection…

The video depicts Fall Out Boy being directed by a bunch of demanding chimps. The director essentially hates them, texting someone this loaded message on his Nokia:

Way harsh, Tai.

A bunch of random shit then ensues, including Patrick Stump playing chess with one of the chimps and Andy Hurley being thrown out of the studio.

Then the true magic happens – Kim is brought in as the love interest. In one scene, the director isn’t happy with the way Pete is trying to kiss her and steps in to show Pete how it’s really done. Pete gets jealous and storms off, Kim follows him and they share a hot pash. Later on, the chimp fully tries to crack onto Kim and they seemingly flirt. Confused? Don’t worry – it’s a lot to take in.

Check it out below and prepare to revel in a time when Pete Wentz was hot property and Kimmy K was up-and-coming. Life is wild.

This is what dreams are made of.

Either way, it’s a huge Sunday mood. You’re so welcome.
