Kids Swarm Pharrell Williams After Stirring UN International Day Of Happiness Speech

March 20 was International Day of Happiness, as staged by the United Nations—a day for looking to the future, focusing on the positive things in life and remembering the importance of happiness in everyone’s lives. And who better a spokesperson than Pharrell Williams for International Happiness Day: a man whose hit—which, granted, is an ear worm of the foulest order at this point—strips things back to celebrate feeling like a room without a roof.

Speaking at the UN HQ overnight to a group of students, Williams highlighted that the audience in front of him was the future, that “happiness is your birthright” and campaigned for greater awareness on climate change.

We have to move from climate change to climate action. We’re in trouble but we can change,” Pharrell said.

Pharrell’s speech aligned with his launch of www.globalhappyparty.com, a site where users can upload photos of themselves dancing, which are then transformed into a GIF and added to a voluminous wall of happiness from users around the world.

Kids gleefully swarmed an on point double denim-wearing Pharrell after his speech. Watch below.
