Katy Perry has sent Taylor Swift a literal olive branch to signify the apparent end of their feud, effectively bringing one of the biggest pop culture bust-ups of our time to a close.
Taking to her Instagram Story just before the first date of her massive Reputation tour, Swift showed her followers the leafy and suitably symbolic offering.
“This means so much to me,” the muso said.
In addition to the wreath, the package included a hand-written letter. While the footage is somewhat blurry and passes in a flash, Perry appears to address Swift as “old friend”.
Perry also appears to write she is “deeply sorry” over “past miscommunications”.
In case you’ve missed the past four-ish years of pop culture beef and are wondering what this all means, here’s the abridged backstory: Swift allegedly poached a handful of dancers from Perry’s 2013 Prism tour for her own Red tour, causing a wee bit of conflict.
The two also dated the same fella – John Mayer – and may or may not have engaged in some friend-stealing antics involving Karli Kloss. That simmering feud burst into the spotlight with Swift’s huge 2014 track Bad Blood, and Perry’s retort in 2017’s Swish Swish.
