The ‘Firework’ singer took to Instagram to announce that she’ll be performing at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on March 8, 2020.

“Why don’t you join me on March 8, 2020 to celebrate women and maybe we can make it the biggest turn out for a female sporting event ever,” she said on her Insta Story.

She captioned the post: “Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi! Let’s break some records. We’ll Roar in support of these awesome women on International Women’s Day!”

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, the singer expressed her joy at supporting an event that pulsates female empowerment.

“To be able to be part of this women’s championship final on International Women’s Day is so special,” she told the publication.

“Any empowerment I can provide for the cause of equality is one I want to be a part of.”

This will be the singer’s first time back to Australia since her Prism World Tour ended last year.

The 10 best women’s teams will compete in 23 matches from 21 February – 8 March 2020.

The event will also see audiences be part of a World Record attempt for Attendance at a Women’s Sporting Event, which was previously set at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in California in 1999.

Punters and Perry fans alike who wish to nab tickets for her exclusive performance can head here.

Good luck, California Gurls.
