Katy Perry Assembles Strange Crew Of US Celebs To Play Basketball Together

Katy Perry has unveiled the trailer to her new music video, ‘Swish Swish‘, featuring cameos from a bunch of much-loved personalities, including indie comedy darling Molly Shannon, and very muscular man of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘ fame, Terry Crews.

Because we live in a world now where pop stars release entire records with no notice, but we need a trailer to prep for the release of a film clip.

Crews and Shannon feature as the coaches of rival basketball teams, the Sheep and the Tigers, playing against in each other in a game dubbed “the hottest mess in history“.

Perry herself is the captain of the Tigers, up against ‘Game of Thrones‘ star Hafþór ‘The Mountain’ Björnsson. Their completely rubbish teams boast the adorbs Gaten Materazo of ‘Stranger Things‘ in a headband; Vine (RIP) star, Chrstine SydelkoJenna Ushkowitz of ‘Glee‘, a show we completely forgot existed; and more celebs, yet to be announced.

A coupla actual US sportscasters, Bill Walton and Rich Eisen, also jumped on board to commentate the match, while Nicki Minaj – who guest raps on the track – is also expected to appear in the final clip.

Swish Swish‘ is widely believed to be Perry’s fierce response to Taylor Swift‘s ‘Bad Blood‘, whose full cast was absolutely massive, including the likes of Cara Delevingne, Lena Dunham, and guest vocalist Kendrick Lamar.

Still, it looks like Perry’s beef track might have a little more humour and humility to it, judging from her posts on Insta.

The full clip is expected to drop later this week.
