Raury Tullis, for the uninitiated, is a 19-year-old from Stone Mountain, Georgia, who made the iconic XXL Freshman 2015 class alongside Fetty Wap and Dej Loaf, joining previous inductees like Vic MensaIggy Azalea, Danny Brown, Schoolboy Q and Kendrick Lamar.

Most people will know him for either ‘Cigarette Song‘ or ‘God’s Whisper‘ from his ‘Indigo Child‘ EP or, for any punters lucky enough to be there, from his 2015 Laneway Festival victory lap.

Our recent interview with Raury in the park – otherwise known as an ideal fucking way to spend the afternoon – spanned a series of topics and can confirm: he was characteristically thoughtful and delightful. In the interest of keeping it bite-sized, though, we’ve picked out the bits where he talked about #KanyeForPresident and old mate Donald Trump. (Given his recent Colbert performance, we rightly assumed he’d have some thoughts).

Raury just left the country after playing the Big Top Luna Park for Optus Rock Corps but get prepared to start seeing a lot more of him and his plentiful hats. His debut album ‘All We Need‘ is dropping in a little over a week and you can find him on FBTwitterInstaTumblr or weraur.com
