Music journalists from across the globe are scrambling to Kanye West’s Wyoming studio to attend his surprise album listening party, only a day after being officially invited by the rapper’s label.
Variety reports around 150 reporters have been summoned to the mountainous Jackson Hole property where West has produced his eighth solo studio record, overcoming overbooked charter flights and hazy information in the process.
Don’t think journalists haven’t commented on the short notice. Variety’s Jem Aswald said “a Def Jam staffer just sighed” when asked why the listening party is slated to finish after the album hits streaming services worldwide.
The record is predicted to arrive in a matter of hours. Stay tuned.
