But there’s one local ritual that American singer Kacey Musgraves absolutely will not partake in and that’s the infamous shoey.
According to a report by News.com.au, the 30-year-old singer was asked by fans to “do a shoey” during her performance at The Enmore Theatre and not only did she refuse to do it, but she also rinsed our “disgusting” tradition and I mean, I’d argue if I could.
“That’s disgusting. I’m not fucking drinking out of your shoe,” Kacey responded after concertgoes began chanting the request at her.

One recent celeb visitor who wasn’t above the shoey was Post Malone who happily obliged when fans asked him to drink from a sneaker during his show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
He repeated the stunt later in his Australian tour, while the crowd chanted the words to the popular drinking song ‘True Blue’.

I know the shoey is all the rage and that but even I, a born and bred Aussie, refuse to drink from a shoe, even when I’m at my most munted.
So you’ll forgive me for not condemning Kacey for denying the foul request.
