Guitar Wizard John Mayer Is Kicking Off His World Tour In Australia Next Year

It’s been a hot minute since he was in the country, but John Mayer is kicking off his 2019 world tour next year with a string of arena shows in Australia in March.

It’ll be the first time he’s performed in the country since his 2014 appearances at Bluesfest and the Deni Blues & Roots Festival, and he’s definitely leaned into some of the weirder parts of his personality since then (which I’m extremely here for, by the way).

On his return, he’ll be performing a run of shows down the east coast at Sydney‘s Qudos Bank ArenaBrisbane Entertainment Centre, and Melbourne‘s Rod Laver Arena.

The shows will be laid out like an evening with John Mayer – he hasn’t released a full album since 2017’s The Search For Everything – and so punters can expect an extensive double-set exploration of his entire back catalogue, which spans a solid 20 years in 2019.

A man who seems to exist primarily in robes and comfy-ass pants, John Mayer can 100% still wail on the guitar and has been playing with The Grateful Dead for the last few years on annual tours – which might explain why Mayer’s been appreciating more of his eccentricities in the last few years.

Anyway, if you wanna go along and re-live that time you discovered John Mayer on your So Fresh Summer 2003 and immediately wanted him to be your boyfriend like I absolutely did, then grab yourself a ticket from the Live Nation website from 11am Monday, December 17.
