Jimmy Fallon’s Lip Sync Battles Are Getting Their Own Show Hosted By LL Cool J

You know that old adage about what you’re supposed to do if something’s not broke? Jimmy Fallon and the rest of his team at The Tonight Show have noticed that you’re all pretty keen on those little Lip Sync Battles that they run with celebrity guests from time to time. And with the TV industry being the voracious consumer of things people like that it is, has decided that from the seed of these little four-minute filler segments an entire series shall grow.

American cable network Spike TV has ordered 10 episodes of a show based entirely around Lip Syncing Battles, to be produced by Fallon, along with John Krasinski and Stephen Merchant, and the now-announced host of the series in LL Cool J.
The series will be a competition-style show, following the format of the original battle segments where contestants will take turns lip syncing their way through hits of their choosing.
LL Cool J will serve as the referee of the series, and he’s pretty dang pumped about it. Observe!
Like the rest of the world, I’m a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level. I’m thrilled to be working with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant, and the entire team to host the show and can’t wait for the fans at home to join in!!
Real talk, the segments on The Tonight Show are consistently brilliant, and that producing team of J, Fallon, Krasinski and Merchant is about as close to a dream team as I could ever dream of assembling. Consider this particular dork cautiously optimistic.
The series is scheduled to begin airing in April. In the meantime, let’s take a little trip down memory lane and watch Emma Stone and Joey Gordon-Levitt absolute slaying shit in their appearances on the OG skit.
