Jay-Z Working On Experimental Album

The dust has barely settled on Jay-Z’s Blueprint III but according to Will Kennard of London Production duo Chase and Status Hova is currently at work on a more experimental followup.

We recently chatted to the UK Drum & Bass/Dubstep production duo who besides writing tracks for Rihanna, Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z is also co-managed by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company. Here’s what Kennard had to say about the new Jay-Z album:

“He’s writing an album at the moment of more experimental sounding stuff. We’re hoping to be a part of that. We were gutted to miss out on the Blueprint III, the time, the deadline, we just missed out on that. You know Jay-Z is just sort of always an entity unto himself and he doesn”t need to make money now so he”s just doing it for the love of music.”

More experimental sounding stuff? We’re thinking hip hop in 3D or shades of this.

Chase and Status are appearing live at Good Vibrations 2010.
