Jay-Z Samples Two Day Old Daughter On “Glory”

In case you’ve been in an underground panic room for the past few days, Beyonce gave birth to her and Jay-Z’s Blue Ivy Carter last week. To celebrate, Jigga Dad dropped this euphoric ballad for his “greatest creation” while shifting allegiances from good girls gone bad to “Daddy’s little girl” in four minutes flat. Parenthood! Stretched over a sparse/triumphant Neptunes beat, the ballad samples Blue Ivy’s first cries (credited here as B.I.C.) and reveals some candid information surrounding her birth. 1) She was conceived in Paris. “But you was made in Paris / And Mamma woke up the next day and shot her album package.” 2) Beyonce tragically suffered a miscarriage at some point. “Last time the miscarriage was so tragic / We was afraid you disappeared / But nah, baby you magic.”

They’re obviously in a much better place right now. “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter,” says a joint statement on Beyo’s official website. “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

Counting down the days til they update ’03 Bonnie & Clyde.
