WATCH: Jay-Z Busted Out A Special Performance Of ‘Numb/Encore’ For Chester

Back in the heady days of 2004, Jay-Z and Linkin Park collaborated on an EP, Collision Course, which has had massively outsized cultural influence considering what it was: six mashups of existing tunes from both artists.

Numb/Encore was indisputably the trophy track on the EP, and it floated around on the charts for what felt like ages. It scored itself a Grammy too, for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

A month after singer Chester Bennington died by suicide at the age of 41, Jay-Z has honoured him by performing Numb/Encore during his V Festival set.

“Can you guys light it up tonight for Chester?” he asked the crowd. “Linkin Park, one time, tonight. Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!”
