Directly on its way to the pointy end of next year’s Hottest 100—by securing the double whammy of a) being flogged on Triple J on the daily hourly, and b) being genuinely fkn great—Jamie XX has previewed a sincerely chill remix of I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) live at a gig in Los Angeles overnight.
Extending the track’s original radio edit by a solid five minutes, the eight-minute remix throws in feted dancehall artists Assassin, Konshens, and Kranium to complement the already legendary lead from Popcaan. Working his magic, Jamie XX manages to skyrocket an already-bloody great thing to new heights.
Featuring an extended intro and additional verses, the remix was led by Dre Skull and is currently “unfinished”, according to Pitchfork, but will likely see a release later this year.
