It was a case of the Australian music consumer done good last week when Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds finally claimed a much deserved first No.1 Album with Push the Sky Away. Yet in one short week, “the grand lord of gothic lushness” has been toppled by Sydney based christian rock movement Hillsong United.
There are several theories floating around as to explain the chart shift; one of which centers on the fact that Hillsong fans are less likely to engage in morally objectionable practices such as illegally downloading music. Needless to say, Nick Cave probably doesn’t give a fuck. Go God!
