Here’s What’s Goin’ Down At Syd’s Red Bull Music Academy Weekender In Sept

In case you missed it, the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender is coming to Sydney in September, promising a whole bunch of interesting music acts as well as art, visual performance and talks. It’s 40 artists and 11 shows over 4 days, and we’ve finally got the skinny on what’s actually going down.

We knew that Flight Facilities were doing a big show with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra – and we’re massively, massively keen on it – but there are some real nice surprises here too.
The Thursday night is looking to be a corker, with Night Slugs’ Bok Bok, Kilo Kish, Sydney’s Marcus Whale, Cliques, Low Ton, Kllo, Ku?ka and Lewis Cancut take over Oxford Art Factory in what will probably be insanely good and also promisingly sweaty.
Chicago house legend Larry Heard (a.k.a. Mr Fingers) is playing his first ever Aussie show at Carriageworks, and also doing a talk about his storied career on a floating stage in Sydney Harbour.
There’s a whole bunch of talks about music and music tech going all weekend for when the beat and techno has totally fried your brain. But lemme give you the whole lineup:
