Here’s Lena Dunham Dancing To “Lena Dunham” Filmed By Taylor Swift

This is some real 2014 pop culture inception shit.

Real life BFFs, collaborators-in-law, and general rulers of their respective media domains, Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham are a pair of legends who have plenty of reasons to party. Dunham’s HBO show Girls has amassed a huge cult following, and her recent book “Not That Kind Of Girl” has been ripping up the best-seller charts, whilst Taylor Swift‘s newest album “1989” has sold more physical copies than any other record in the past decade.
And yet, it’s the fact that they happened to stumble onto a song called “Lena Dunham” that’s got them dancin’ in the kitchen.
Exhibit A, thanks to TaySway’s impeccable ‘gramming skills.

This was what happened when Lena and I found out that there is a rap song called ‘Lena Dunham’. @lenadunham

Even despite Lena’s impeccable dancing abilities, it’s the little “YAAAAASS!” that Taylor throws out at the end that’s the real winner here.
For the record, the song is by the impeccably named Hand Job Academy. The tune in and of itself is… oh, there’s nothing fundamentally terrible about it. But the filmclip is nudging on Interior Semiotics-levels of Bushwick self-awareness.

Call me bitter and jaded, but if you managed to get through the whole thing, you’re a braver soul than I.
